Violinist Gerald Itzkoff has had a long and distinguished playing career, performing and recording from a wide range of the chamber, solo, and orchestral literature. Before joining the Cincinnati Symphony in 1993, he was active in the New England music scene, playing with Early, Contemporary, Chamber and Symphonic groups. A former Resident Music Tutor at Harvard University, he has taught violin at Phillips Academy (Andover, MA.), recorded and toured with the Boston Symphony, and was Concertmaster of the New Hampshire Symphony. He has traveled extensively as a member of the Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra, visiting places such as Nairobi, Cairo, Seoul, Tahiti, Mauritius and Reunion. He is a founding member of the Amicus Chamber Players, which presents several free chamber music concerts in Cincinnati during the year. Mr. Itzkoff can be heard on two solo recordings, "Twentieth Century Romantic", and a disc of music for violin and piano of Schubert.
